I had a pair of perfectly good Five Ten Freeriders that did the job, but I hated the skate shoe aesthetic. Had these in my cart for awhile and finally decided to buy them when the price fell to $120. They run slightly small compared to other Five Ten shoes, so best to go up half a size. They stick like glue to my flat pedals (DMR Vaults), just like the Freeriders, and they're suprisingly light, extremely comfortable and IMO much nicer looking than any other MTB shoe that's out there. Wore mine at Mountain Creek and Thunder Mountain Bike Park, as well as my local trails and they offer solid protection and perform as expected. Can't speak to durability yet, but they're well made and I'll update this review if I have any issues. If you're on the fence debating, I highly recommend getting them. Unlike most other MTB shoes, they look cool and feel great for regular use off the trails. They're as light as all my other shoes (mostly Nike Flyknit) and just comfortable. Go get 'em!!!I love these. I use with platform, spiked pedals. The soles are just stiff enough but still very wearable off the bike too. The one piece neoprene type liner keeps out most dirt and debris if worn with socks. The secure fit is reassuring. At lease a half size smaller than advertised. In addition, the neoprene neck that goes around your ankle is super small, I really have to wrestle with these to get them on, then, once I did, they are really tight and small...So I have wide feet. The toe box is way too tight and during the ride the side on my toes start hurting because of how tight it is. I wish I would have bought another pair especially costing 170 bucks ... So stay away if u have wider feet.Great fit, support, stick.e.ness and they look good too!Returned mine due to the following reasons.1. Adidas sport shoes odd sizing manifested again.2. The material is light which compensates for the lack of protection on the heel and toe and sides of the feet. IMO Riding the trail requires protection from toe up to the ankle.3. Lacing system is meh4. I would look for an alternative if ur looking for shoes that have ankle support.5. I will just settle for the low cut versions if u like matetial and the product but would not recommend them on the trail. The low cut versions look cool and can be use for walking, everyday activity and maybe even hiking.I like your pricing and the convenience of getting it delivered.
